Journeyman Electrician
Journeyman Electricians are skilled tradespeople who install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems. They are responsible for ensuring that all work is compliant with codes, safe, and functional. Behind the scenes, Journeyman Electricians make sure that every electrical system in a building or infrastructure project works seamlessly, providing essential power and communication systems that the entire building depends on.

Journeyman Electrician

Installation & Wiring (40%)
Install electrical systems according to codes, blueprints, and safety regulations.
Run wiring and connect electrical systems to power sources, ensuring everything is working properly.
Ensure that all work meets project specifications and quality standards.
Troubleshooting & Repairs (30%)
Diagnose electrical issues and perform repairs or replacements as needed.
Use testing equipment to locate malfunctions in systems, providing effective solutions in a timely manner.
Work on a variety of electrical systems, including lighting, security systems, and HVAC wiring.
Team Leadership & Mentoring (15%)
Supervise apprentices and other less-experienced electricians, providing guidance and on-the-job training.
Ensure that team members adhere to safety protocols and electrical standards.
Manage team tasks and delegate responsibilities as necessary to meet project goals.
Compliance & Documentation (10%)
Ensure all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes and regulations.
Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
Prepare reports and submit them as required for compliance or project documentation.
Safety Practices (5%)
Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE and following electrical safety procedures.
Conduct safety checks on tools and equipment before use, ensuring they are in good working order.

Workplace Requirements:
Travel Requirements: Local travel to job sites.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy electrical equipment, work in confined spaces, and at heights.
Work Conditions: Work both indoors and outdoors, including challenging weather conditions.
Certifications: Journeyman Electrician License, OSHA 10/30, and First Aid/CPR.
Safety:
Must follow electrical safety standards and protocols, ensuring that work is completed safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and installation.
Safety Awareness: Ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations during electrical work.
Problem-Solving: Troubleshoots electrical issues quickly to minimize downtime.
Teamwork: Works effectively with other electricians, contractors, and team members.
Compliance Knowledge: Follows local building codes and electrical regulations to ensure safe installations.
